ADULT FORMATION

The Office of Adult Formation supports and facilitates the Church's mission of providing opportunities for on-going faith formation for adults - the paradigm of all catechesis. It also assists and encourages the authentic implementation of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, providing networking and in-service opportunities.

RCIA

The RICA Process (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) consists of four phases: Inquiry, Catechumenate, Purification & Enlightenment, and Mystogogy.  At Easter Vigils across our Diocese and the country, adults receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

The Rite of Election this year is on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at St. Theresa Parish in Trumbull at 3pm.  The information sheet can be found here.

Adult Confirmation

The prerequisite for an Adult Confirmation candidate is a baptized, catechized Catholic who is a participating member of his/her parish community. Appropriate preparation for candidates is necessary and may be accomplished by either Parish Catechesis or the Diocesan Refresher Course.
